The Color Zoom Event is one of the most inspiring events for hair stylists from all over the world. Three days of hair fashion and creative exchange help to boost a stylist’s creativity and career to the next level. The Color Zoom Event was held in Berlin at the Radisson Blu hotel. Before the guests arrived to the hotel, each were given a Welcome packet with luggage tags, t-shirts, and a North American Welcome Party invite, inspired by the AquaDom, a massive aquarium containing over 1,500 tropical fish located as the centerpiece of the Radisson Blu Hotel lobby. Throughout the hotel I created large format banners that stretched from the ceiling to the lower level of the lobby to introduce the event to guests.
The Salon Alliance program is open to all salons and independent stylists who purchase a quarterly minimum of $1,000 in Goldwell and/or KMS California products. To introduce the Salon Alliance to Goldwell salons, a brochure was sent out to break down the different points and levels a salon can achieve in order to become a Titanium member (the highest level). Inside you will find that I broke the piece up with tabs for each category and charts/graphs for easy reading. With Spot UV throughout and a soft touch finish for the front cover the brochure provides the overall expensive feel that the client wanted to convey.
Goldwell and KMS California are a stylist-exclusive brand for hair color and hair care products around the world. In an effort to reach as many stylists and salon owners as possible Goldwell/KMS California launched a mobile e-commerce app as a way to purchase products on the fly. After developing the wireframing and the overall design in Photoshop I was able to hand it off to a developer to push out to the North American market.
Information Standards Quarterly (ISQ) is NISO’s print and electronic magazine for communicating standards-based technology and best practices in library, publishing, and information technology. The main challenge with ISQ is presenting the complex content that exists throughout the magazine in a way that draws interest to the material. Through abstract thinking and breaking down the information into easily identifiable graphs and images I was able to overcome this challenge.
Invite used to announce the opening of an exciting exhibition, Lasting Legacies, at the Evergreen Museum and Library of Johns Hopkins University. The more than 100 works of fine and decorative art donated over the past 70 years was on display for museum members only. Drawing inspiration from one of the pieces of artwork in the collection by Piet Mondrian and the De Stijl art movement, the invite incorporated all of the different works within each graphic square/rectangle. The inside of the invite contains a matching reception invite with details about the cocktail hour before the exhibition.
The Product Offering brochure highlights Goldwell and KMS California hair color and hair care products. Each page gives comprehensive benefits for each product along with a detailed back story. The brochure has a matte finish with Spot UV applied individually to every product throughout. The wire-o binding makes this piece an easy read for stylists and consumers to flip through.
Kerasilk Luxury Hair Care is a premium line of hair care products by Goldwell exclusively sold in salons internationally. For the launch of the new Kerasilk line I was asked to create a trial and gift set box that would be used to send out to potential salon owners with a few Kerasilk products inside. The main goal the client wanted to communicate was a premium looking box that would grab a salon owners eye in the hopes of purchasing Kerasilk in the future for the backbar and retail areas of the salon. Using multiple printing techniques, I was able to elevate Kerasilk and it’s line of products to the premium level the client was trying to achieve.
“Make the Cut,” is a nationwide search for the most passionate professionals in the hair care industry. If you make it, you will become part of the Goldwell Global Artist Network, one of the most talented, dedicated, creative and inspirational education teams in the world. Since “Make the Cut” was a new competition I developed a logo mark along with the look and feel of the overall brand. Working with a web developer, I was able to translate the brand look onto the Make The Cut website. Other collateral included a collection of e-blasts and print flyers to promote the competition to potential stylists.
The Shriver Hall Concert Series is a collection of chamber music concerts featuring a mix of well-known and up-and-coming young artists on the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University. Every season the Shriver Hall Concert Series releases a program booklet, Prelude, that is handed out during each of the concerts. The overall theme for the series was “Delivering The World’s Best Classical Music To Baltimore”.
Every year Homewood Museum and the Library of Johns Hopkins University host an Evening of Traditional Beverages, highlighting a category of alcoholic drinks. For their 17th year, Homewood Museum presented Fruitful Brews: fruit-powered artisanal brews and ciders that guests enjoyed throughout the event with farm-to-table snacks on the side. I designed the front of the invite based on inspiration from traditional farmhouse labels. Sketch illustration and fruit artwork provided by Homewood Museum.
Kerasilk Luxury Hair Care is a premium line of hair care products by Goldwell exclusively sold in salons internationally. With Keratransform Technology, the new Kerasilk in-salon services transform the client’s hair with results lasting for weeks. For the launch of the Kerasilk line, Goldwell released national advertising in Allure, Elle, Glamour, Harpers Bazaar, Town & Country, Vogue, and W Magazine to reach the mass consumer market. The ad was used to push consumers to visit their website and find the nearest Goldwell salon in the hopes that they schedule an appointment for a Kerasilk service treatment.
